Local Area Plan for Drimnagh and Landsdowne Wildlife Park

The Integrated Area Plan for this area has been put on ice because of the recession. This plan covered developing the area along the canal and in Landsdowne Valley.

The natural surroundings of Landsdowne Valley along the river will be developed into a wildlife park. Local Residents, the D12 Development Action Group and the Parks Department of Dublin City Council are working closely together on this project. We look forward to this development as a unique amenity and be fully utilised for the community of Drimnagh and its surrounds.

Drimnagh has been starved of investment

Drimnagh

The Celtic Tiger years were a missed opportunity for the Council to make investment in Drimnagh. This area has no library, no swimming pool or shopping centre. Drimnagh’s parks and playgrounds badly need upgrading. Despite the economic recession these improvements are worth fighting for. Hundreds of local jobs could be created by taking skilled workers off the dole and using their talents to give our community the resources we deserve. A fraction of the money that is being thrown at the banks and developers could go a long way towards improving Drimnagh and giving people jobs.
