In November this year is was agreed that there would be a broader alliance called the United Left Alliance in order to fight this election. The Alliance is made up of left wing groups and individuals including the Tipperary Worker’s Action group, PBPA and SP among others. The ULA will be standing candidates throughout the country and we are inviting all people, campaigns and groups that want to fight for real change and who agree with our demands to become part of the Alliance.

It is hoped that after the election discussions will continue about forming one party which could bring all of these other parties and grouping together in a more formal way.

I hope this clears it up somewhat. However, the main point is that we all are fighting for the same outcomes and that for the first time in a long time there is unity among the left. These are all stepping stones to providing the Irish people a real alternative to current political parties.
